Welcome back to another Q&A session. Today, Allecia Fagerlund, the owner of Beauty Ammo, joins us to talk how she got into the esthetic’s business.
Q: Tells us a little bit about yourself and why did you decide to get into the esthetics industry with Beauty Ammo.
A: I’m 33 years old. I grew up in the North Shore. My family emigrated here in the 60’s from Sweden.
I originally got into esthetics because my first passion was makeup, and during my career in that industry I saw a lot of skin conditions and problems. It definitely made me want to get in a deeper level to help and treat these problems and keep them under control.
As well, my mother owned a salon called Second Look in North Vancouver, and she was a great motivator for myself in starting Beauty Ammo.
Q: So did you have to do formal studies in esthetics or are you self-taught?
A: I did formal studies at the Borealis Dominelli Academy, so I’m a fully certified esthetician.
Q: Do you have any shout outs for any formal classmates or teachers you want to make here?
A: Yes, even when she is in Columbia, Mafi. She was my classmate and best friend. We had a great time together, and she left for Colombia three months after graduation to take over her grandmother’s business.
I hope she is doing great and hope everything is going well.
Q: Tell us about your experience and relationship with our company.
A: It’s been a little bit longer than a year and a half. I found Breizh through Google while searching for beauty supplies and you were the second one down on the list.
When I came here I met Corinne and Taylor, and I have not left since, so I’m very happy with the company.
Q: It’s great to her! You always bring so much energy. Can you tell us more about you as an entrepreneur?
A: It’s been one of the hardest things I’ve ever done, but definitely the most rewarding. Sometimes I want to drop my hand up and say “I can’t do this anymore.”
But passion definitely helps. You go through ups and downs. It’s tough, but you have to stick with it. That’s the best advice I can give to any future entrepreneurs.
Q: You are working with our France Laure line. Does it help you to build your business and set you apart from competitors?
A: I think France Laure is the best line I’ve ever used. It was the first line I tried, and I’ve been using it ever since. I have great sales on it, and my customers love it.
A lot of my clientele buys the product throughout the facial. They love the smell, the feel and ask me about the product used on them.
I also use it myself at home, my mother and sister also do. It’s great, and it helps with the budget.
Q: What is your favorite France Laure product?
A: Hard question!
Definitely the Hydrothermal Cleansing Milk. All my costumers love that it’s something natural.
Another one is the Duo Lift. It’s phenomenal. I use it and also my mother, who is hooked by the amazing results.
Q: So how do you feel about working with Breizh?
A: It’s been amazing. Breizh has given me a lot of knowledge. You were here for me for my first set up. You are always there to answer all my questions and always get back to me right away.
